Choosing Your Personal Style

Style Choices for Everyone

There are many ways to create a personal sense of style that is unique to you. Everyone’s haircut says a lot about his or her personality, no matter how simple or wild & crazy it might be. And how you dress says even more, although less so if you are required to wear a uniform for school or work. But if you do have to wear a standard outfit, little flashes of flair or hints of color can make any outfit yours. Even wearing the same clothing every day (like Steve Jobs or Mark Zuckerberg) tells the world that you have better things to do than spend your time on fashion. But besides the fashion decisions that everyone makes (except maybe a Marine boot camp recruit) there are many more creative style choices you can make to personalize your look.

For men, one choice is how to grow your facial hair. A clean shaven man spends the time to maintain a sleek look, while someone with a Thomas Walkup beard is going for the hipster look. A man’s watch also says something about him – whether he has a simple Casio, a showy Rolex, or a sporty Fitbit.

Women’s Style Options…Including Pubic Hair?

Women have more options in most facets of how to change their appearance. There are a variety of makeup products that can highlight facial features or cover up flaws. Earrings, necklaces, and other jewelry are another common accessory. While men increasingly wear some jewelry such as rings or bracelets, it is far more socially acceptable for the ladies. A handbag is another frequently used way to express a sense of style or prestige. And although females rarely have beards, they do have a range of choices to make about styling all the hair below their scalp. In America, most women don’t let their armpit or leg hair grow, unless it’s for a few months while they stay covered up during the cold winter months. Waxing and shaving are two of the most common ways to remove body hair, while laser hair removal and depilatory creams are also an option. These same hair removal options are also available for the most personal choice – which pubic hairstyle to rock! While in the early 2000s a clean shaven or Brazilian wax look were very common, now in the 2010s full bushes are making a comeback. And a popular compromise is keeping your pubic hair neatly trimmed or shaved around the edges to keep it from sticking out of your panties or swimsuit.

Whatever your style choices, make them confidently and make them yours!

Where to Find a Personal Injury Attorney

So you have been injured in an accident and need help fast – where do you turn?A walking cast needed after a personal injury

Many accident injuries are nominally covered by insurance policies, so you might think that filing an insurance claim is the best way to get the medical treatment you need.  However, most insurance companies do their best to avoid paying any claims (as shown by the linked report from the Department of Justice).  If you count on getting paid by an insurance company, you will probably be waiting a long time!

What can you do in cases where the insurer is dragging its feet, or when whoever wrongfully injured you doesn’t have insurance and refuses to pay, is hire a personal injury attorney.  This type of lawyer can help you recover the expenses you have incurred from your injury, as well as get compensation for pain and suffering and time you had to take off work.

But which personal injury attorney should you choose?  Unless you live in a rural area, there will be quite a few local lawyers who specialize in personal injury law for you to choose from.  And most of them won’t be hard to find – these attorneys tend to advertise heavily, and are responsible for many of the stereotypical late night TV lawyer ads.  But choosing your personal injury lawyer based on a bus bench ad isn’t the best idea.  You need a competent professional who will work hard for you and get the best outcome for your case, whether that is a pre-trial settlement or a judgement from a jury.

Most personal injury attorneys have websites, but it is hard to judge their quality from a website.  Sometimes the best attorneys have very plain websites, while shysters have slick, fancy sites with lots of cool features.  For example, if you were to need a personal injury attorney in Riverside, CA, this website,, isn’t super fancy, but will get you a very good lawyer.  You should carefully interview a prospective lawyer and make sure that she is someone you want to potentially work with over a period of months.  You can also search the web for reviews of each attorney you interview, and make sure that they don’t have a history of ripping off clients or bungling cases.  Just make sure you check out more than one lawyer, and find out as much as you can about him before hiring.
